Irma Grese’s name is well known with the Holocaust however not a lot is actually known of her. At the approximate age of 19 she was sent to work at Ravensbrück Concentration camp where she became a camp guard, she was soon transferred to Auschwitz where she became the rank of a senior SS-supervisor in 1943. Irma was put in charge of over 30,000 women inmates which were mainly Polish and Hungarian Jews. Her rank was the second highest a female could attain. She was also the youngest guard of the concentration camps to be hanged. Of course her sexuality comes mainly from three women, one being Gisella Perl.
